Combining invented and traditional instruments with a non-traditional approach to composition, String Theory composes and produces potent and resonant music for film & television. Working in a wide breadth of musical styles ranging from modern groove, ambient soundscape and world, to classical to rock, our composers understand the inherent impact that the right composition imparts to a specific scene or narrative arc. The team of String Theory musicians covers a huge spectrum of expertise at instruments ranging from cello to voice, from drum kit to bass clarinet, and from violin to Theremin. A strong asset in the String Theory sonic arsenal are the long-string Harps and invented instruments that are unique to the group. Designed and constructed by ensemble member Luke Rothschild, these instruments have a singular and compelling sound found nowhere else. Writing, tracking and production takes place at our in-house studio in Venice.

"...and the sound design by String Theory was exceptional." "The range of String Theory's music makes it ideal for film scoring: they can execute many diverse styles of music with as austere or complex an arrangement as the film demands without compromising the high quality sound that defines their work." |
